Vital Report - Ross County 2-0 Aberdeen

Ross County
2 - 0

Global Energy Stadium

Attendance: 5,543

Aberdeen's Scottish Premiership season continued with another defeat at the Global Energy Stadium against Ross County on Friday.

The international break didn't have the desired effect for Aberdeen with a third successive Premiership defeat suffered with a goal in either half from Graham enough to secure Ross County the points in a two-nil win, which had moved them up to third and allowed Celtic the chance to claim top spot if they beat Motherwell.

Which the Champions did....

Looking for a reaction to the five-one thrashing heading into the international break McInnes made four changes to the starting XI, not that it made too much difference Foster and Boyce causing problems.

Aberdeen threatened through Goodwillie, who went for a spectacular overhead effort that went across goals with Shinnie clearing a Davies header off the line to prevent Ross County from going ahead.

Foster once again threatened with Liverpool loanee Ward forced into his first real save to deny him but eventually a Quinn challenge on Foster saw the ball into Graham's (36) path and he did the rest with half time approaching to put the home side one-up.

Shortly after the break, which saw Aberdeen started well, Quinn was involved in the second goal as the flight of the ball was misjudging by the Dons man allowing Graham (49) to run through and finish past Ward to double the lead on the counter attack.

The post denied Aberdeen, and more accurately McGinn, a way back into the game with Rooney, brought on by that point having been left out in favour of Goodwillie, seeing the follow up cleared off the line by Reckord.

Rooney was again left frustrated when Ross County 'keeper Woods pulled off a fine save to deny the striker with Boyce unable to wrap up the win with a third when he finished poorly when through on goal but it didn't matter.
