Aberdeen's Scottish Premiership season continued with a first defeat at the Caledonian Stadium against Inverness on Saturday.

It's been, in the end, a disappointing win for Aberdeen as a first defeat in domestic football was suffered at Hibernian in the League Cup in midweek with first half goals from Storey and Christie leaving Inverness well on the way to victory on Saturday afternoon.

Taylor pulled one back, but even though Christie was sent off before the end, Aberdeen couldn't get level with the 100% Premiership record was ended with a two-one defeat suffered by the Dons!

McLean went close to given Aberdeen a great start but his effort was well saved by Inverness 'keeper Fon Williams but then Caley took the lead when Swindon loanee Storey (8), with a fine finish, beat Ward from a Christie pass for his third goal since arriving at the Caledonian Stadium.

It would have been two if, with Christie again the provider, Draper wasn't denied by a fine Quinn challenge with Liverpool loanee Ward turning over a Polworth effort. That man Christie (29), as seemed inevitable, finally did make it two-nil for Inverness when he left Ward with no chance as he finished into the top corner from 30-yards.

Taylor (35), which was needed swiftly, headed Aberdeen back into the game before the break from a McGinn corner but only another fine Ward save from a Christie header prevented Inverness from again restoring that two-goal lead!

Aberdeen enjoyed the second half possession but couldn't put much pressure on the Inverness goal, until late on! With Fon Williams by Pawlett, who had come on, his freekick curled against the post.

It had been a great afternoon for Christie but he was sent off when he was issued his second yellow card for a foul on Shinnie, who was fit enough to feature against his former side.

This red card would, surely, lead to an Aberdeen equaliser? Considine had a chance he couldn't take with Goodwillie, who was also denied by the frame of the goal, looked set to score but he slipped at he wrong time and couldn't hit the target with defeat the outcome.

A second defeat of the week, a first in the league, saw Aberdeen miss the chance to open up more of a gap on Celtic who were held to a goalless draw by Hearts with the gap now down to four-points....
